A dedicated supporter of numerous charitable causes, Nadia Cavner headed Nadia Cavner Group Investment Services in Springfield, Missouri, for more than two decades. She has recently dedicated her time to promoting the interests of the Tibetan people, in particular through facilitating dialogue between the Springfield business community and His Holiness the Dalai Lama as part of a program promoted by the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT).

For close to 30 years, ICT has focused on fighting for the human rights of Tibetans. Its efforts have included monitoring and publicizing human rights abuses and general living conditions in the region. The group has not only assisted in channeling social service and other funding toward the needs of Tibetans, but also served as a liaison between Tibetans and Chinese people and organizations. In doing so, it strives to support the Tibetan people’s right to self-determination.

In October 2017, ICT issued a statement in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal of the United States to the Dalai Lama. The group was closely involved in the planning and promotion of this award, an acknowledgement of the American people’s admiration for His Holiness’ spiritual and practical leadership of his people and unwavering commitment to promoting the universal principles of democracy and human freedom.
